The need for speed

Chicagoland doesn’t usually get frequent snowfalls in the winter time. This winter has definitely been unique with new snow falling almost weekly. With a fresh batch of snow on the ground since last night and no motorcycle riding anytime soon, we decided to get our fix for speed some other way. We got one of those cheap saucer snow sleds at Wal-mart and went sledding today just on the other side of town.

The day was a beautiful one, which is also rare around here in the winter time, usually winter days are overcast and depressing. But today the sun was shining and there was not even a cloud in the sky. It was a cold day though, about 20 degrees and a bit windy.

The big hill is waiting for us

I'm waiting for my turn to slide

Almost a crash, but I actually ended up saving it

These kids better get out of the way, I'm a newbie at this

Mike waiting for his turn

Mike in emergency braking mode

Another turn for Mike down the hill

The big hill got very crowded so we moved to a smaller hill that we didn't have to share with anyone

A snow blanket for me

My pretty snow angel

This was a lot of fun, better then sitting at home for sure
