It was 32 degrees this morning, raining, hailing and snowing. Thank goodness the mess was gone by the time I got up to Power Motor Sports in Palatine to pick up the Duc from the 6,000 mile valve service.
As I rode it home at around 7:30PM it was about 40 degrees and windy. Funny to think that since last week the temps have been in the 70’s.
The odo reads 6089 miles

Heh. Let's compare costs...
My R12ST is going in for it's 6000 mile service on Tuesday. I have a feeling it's going to be expensive. Darn "Bring Money With" machines.
$380 with no oil change was my total
Mine ended up at $302 including oil change, valve adjust, TBS, and all the other stuff they say they did. Also included a state inspection so I can get my bike plated for Texas. Probably around $270 just for the service (dealer quote).
Becca, that is a DEAL! Ducs are not cheap, but sure are FUN!
A week ago I took my V-Star 650 Custom in for it's 8,000 mile valve adj and service check. I can't take credit for all but the last 4, 100 miles. I bought it last March '05. The damage for me was $293 (yikes!!, but that included the oil change). It was worth every penny. They adjusted the clutch and a few other things and now it runs much nicer.
